Exel Inc.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a lawsuit on behalf of Clifford Baker regarding employee racial discrimination. Exel operates as a warehouse and distribution center for Coors Brewing Co. The African American traffic clerk claimed he was fired because of his race and because he reported to management that a white colleague made racially offensive comments in the workplace. The lawsuit claimed Exel violated Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which prohibits racial discrimination in the workplace. Exel has agreed to a $145,000 employee race discrimination settlement. (Dec-28-05) [DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL]
