Britney Spears

Songwriter Steve Wallace filed a lawsuit against the singer alleging copyright infringement of the song "Sometimes". In 1990, Wallace received a poor man's copyright by placing his work in a sealed envelope to obtain a postmark. Spears obtained a U.S. copyright for "Sometimes" in 1999. It appeared on her debut album and on last year's greatest hits album. An Indianapolis District Judge dismissed the case and no money was exchanged. (Nov-09-05)
