Trinity Outdoor, Phoenix Structures and Services, and Sun Capital Partners

On August 1 2001, brothers Joshua Fowler, 23, and Anthony Fowler, 21, were killed while working on a billboard in Snellville, Georgia. "The Fowler brothers were working for Fowler Sign Group installing the panels on the billboard for Trinity when the sign suddenly collapsed. They fell 40 feet to the ground and the billboard's steel beams fell on top of them. The city of Snellville, which is about 25 miles northwest of Atlanta, launched an investigation and determined that the billboard collapsed because of faulty welds and substandard steel," made by Phoenix Structures and Services. The 35,000 pound billboard fell on them and two other workers, one of which survived. Joshua and Anthony's parents, Rick and Juanita Fowler, filed a lawsuit against the billboard's owners and were awarded a $12 million wrongful death settlement. (Oct-14-05) [LEDGER ENGUIRER]
