LAWSUITS NEWS & LEGAL INFORMATION

International Flavors and Fragrances Inc.

Kenneth Moenning worked at Jasper Popcorn Co. for two years. He developed bronchiolitis obliterans, a rare and progressive lung disease which will require a lung transplant. Experts testified that the disease was a result of Moenning's exposure to diacetyl and other chemicals in butter flavorings used at the plant. Current and former employees filed a lawsuit against International Flavors alleging they knew of such hazards but didn't warn workers. Now just 36 years old, Moenning was awarded a $2.7 million settlement for his injuries. (Jul-20-05) [NEWSDAY]
