City of Davis

Former firefighter Vicky Mandy was employed by the Davis Fire Department from July 1994 to September 2000. Mandy alleged she was harassed and denied promotions because she was openly gay, and that although she qualified for the higher positions, the promotions were given to heterosexual males at the department. Mandy has accepted a $260,000 out of court settlement from the city. (Jun-15-05) [DAVIS ENTERPRISE]
