The uninsured man allegedly lost control of his vehicle and drove it into a lamppost. His 21 year old friend Justin Newton suffered serious head injuries and was left in a persistent vegetative state. The Motor Insurers' Bureau has agreed to pay Newton 100,000 pounds for his injuries.
