Medtronic Inc.

Dr. Gary Michelson and his company, Karlin Technology Inc., filed a lawsuit against the company alleging patent infringement. Dr. Michelson claims his team invented most of the spinal cord treatment technology that Medtronic is using. The recent court settlement has ordered Medtronic to pay $800 million to buy spinal fusion technology and $550 million to settle legal claims. (Apr-23-05) [INDY STAR]
