Royal London Hospital

Shineece Cudjoe's was born two months premature in February of 1999. Nine weeks later she was back in the hospital for a hernia removal. Her tiny hand was accidentally crushed by an incubator lid and doctors simply bandaged her fingers. Once home, Doris Obeng, Shineece's mother found little bones "sticking out" and realized the problem was more severe. She took her premature girl back to the hospital and they had to remove three of her fingers. After admitting liability, The Barts and The London NHS Trust awarded the family 30,000 pounds.
