Sun Microsystems

Eastman Kodak Co. was awarded $92 million in a patent dispute with Sun Microsystems Inc. regarding their Java software. A New York jury found Sun's Java technology was in violation of three patents Kodak holds to govern object oriented software. Sun will receive full license rights to the Kodak patents and any customer holding a Java license from Sun will be covered by the Sun/Kodak licensing agreement. (Oct-07-04)
