Driver Arraigned in Missouri Car Crash that Killed 12-Year-Old Boy

A Kansas City man could be facing hard time for a Missouri car crash that killed a 12-year-old boy and seriously injured his mother.

Clayton Dunlap, a 30-year-old local man who has been confined to a wheelchair due to injuries suffered in the crash, faces charges of second-degree murder, driving with a revoked license and driving while intoxicated. Prosecutors claim that Dunlap was high on PCP when his car struck that of Sabrina Kneisley from behind.

Keisley, who was stopped at a traffic light at the time, was driving with her son, Damian Slayton, in the back seat. All involved parties received serious injuries, and Damian was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police records show that Dunlap had been cited 33 times for prior traffic violations, including 13 counts of driving with a suspended license, leading many analysts to wonder why the man was not in jail for his infractions.

Kneiseley was on hand for the arraignment to oversee the proceedings.

"My son was killed because somebody made a stupid decision," Kneisley told the local press. "So I feel like I need to be here in order to make sure that he can't make that stupid decision again."
