Two Men Seriously Injured in Kansas City Motorcycle Accident

. By Charles Benson

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that two men suffered serious injuries as a result of a Kansas City motorcycle accident earlier in the month.

On Saturday, April 10, 19-year-old Daniel H. Burge of Kansas City was driving a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle southbound on the Missouri interstate when his vehicle collided with a Jeep, ejecting Burge and his passenger, 21-year-old Zachary Elder, from the bike. It was not immediately clear who was at fault in the incident.

After being launched into the busy highway, Elder was then struck by a second Jeep while lying in the roadway. He was taken to North Kansas Hospital, where his condition was listed as critical, according to the St. Joseph News-Press. From there Burge was taken to St. Luke's Plaza for medical treatment, where nursing supervisors list his condition as fair.

Elder was wearing a helmet; Burge was not.
