A vehicle rollover accident involving a fire truck has left six volunteer firefighters injured. The fire truck rolled over as a result of trying to miss another motorist.

The motor vehicle accident occurred around 1:30 am on Sunday, June 27th, while the Farmington Fire Department pumper truck was traveling along highway F en route to a house fire. The truck's lights and sirens on, when it encountered a car in front that was hugging the center line and would not yield to the fire truck. So the driver of the truck veered to the right to avoid a collision with the car in front, however its wheels dropped off the pavement when the driver overcorrected, causing the truck to go into a roll.

The front passenger was ejected during the rollover. All six firemen were rushed to St. John's Mercy hospital for treatment of their injuries. The driver sustained a pelvic injury, and the others were treated and released with non-serious injuries.

The vehicle that refused to yield left the scene. A full investigation is underway.
