A car crash near St. Louis has left one person dead and six people injured. Among the injured are two students from UW-Oshkosh, Clinton Wayne Peters and Jacob Kramer, both 23.

The group was returning from spring break in Texas. The 23-year-old driver, Max Kaminski of Kimberly, reportedly swerved to avoid hitting a car, striking a guardrail and then a concrete pillar.

Kaminski, who was wearing his seat belt, survived the crash, but Brad Nudelbacher, a 23-year old native of Appelton, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was in the front passenger seat when the car hit the concrete pillar. According to one report the car was so badly mangled that all the occupants were trapped inside and had to be freed by rescue workers.

The other people in the car accident were college students Thomas Kesler of Menasha; Jordan Nowak of Milwaukee; and Joshua Tysver of Appleton. Kramer and Kesler are currently at St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis receiving treatment for their injuries. Both are listed in satisfactory condition.

Alcohol was reportedly not involved.
