Congressman Luetkemeyer's Daughter-In-Law Killed in Missouri Car Accident

A car accident in central Missouri on July 31 has killed 27-year old Amy Berhorst Luetkemeyer, the daughter-in -aw of Republican Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer.

According to media reports, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Amy Leutkemeyer's death Friday, following the accident which happened two miles south of Meta on Highway 133, in Maries County, at about 2:00 pm local time.

The Highway Patrol said that her car, a Mazda 6, crossed the center line, overcorrected and was then struck by a Dodge Ram driven by Robert Peters of Meta. Mrs. Leutkemeyer was wearing a seatbelt. She was taken to Capital Region Medical Center, but died late that afternoon.

Mrs. Luetkemeyer had married the congressman's son, Trevor, in October 2009. Congressman Luetkemeyer represents the 9th District, which stretches from Columbia to the western edge of the St. Louis metro area.
