New Program at Wisconsin Hospital Helps People with Shoulder Pain

. By Charles Benson

Shoulder injuries can be extremely difficult to handle, with a shoulder pain pump being one of the treatment methods.

For those suffering from such injuries, it can also be helpful to consider joint replacement surgery, and a Wisconsin hospital recently created a program that is dedicated in particular to the procedure, according to the Wisconsin Rapids Tribune.

The Central Wisconsin Joint Center at Riverview Hospital recently created a new addition that will include a special area designated to care for joint replacement patients, providing nurses, rooms, and exercise and therapy opportunities.

Educational classes are also offered as part of this new program, with staff on hand to answer questions from patients and family members both before and after the operation takes place. A Patient Guidebook for Joint Replacement is also offered and gives pre- and post-surgery advice.

Additionally, wall displays located throughout the center answer some of the most frequently asked questions, and daily newsletters with schedules and tips are provided. The Joint Center Coordinator is also available to answer questions and help coordinate the patient's care.
