The funeral for a 6-year-old South Carolina boy who died in an amusement park accident when a miniature train crashed at the site was held recently, The Associated Press reports.

According to the news provider, Benji Easler was killed recently when the train came off its tracks at Cleveland Park in the city of Spartanburg, South Carolina.

The funeral reportedly took place at Corinth Baptist Church in Gaffney, where the boy's father, Dwight Easler, is pastor, according to the news source. Dwight Easler, his wife and their two other children were among the 27 people in total who sustained injuries in the amusement park accident.

Matt Conrad, the driver of the train, said recently that he believed the track and the engine were safe at the time of the accident. However, he had previously told authorities that he was driving the train too fast when the incident occurred. His lawyers have since added that Conrad was in a state of shock when he claimed he was going too fast.

The family of one of the people injured in the accident has filed a negligence lawsuit against local and state officials, the news source said.
