Raytheon Company
From 1997 to 2001, the Raytheon Company was investigated by the Securities and Exchange Commission (S.E.C) for improper accounting practices at its aircraft unit. Raytheon, based in Waltham, Mass., manufactures Hawker and Beechcraft business jets. The company agreed on a $12 million settlement with the S.E.C. and recorded an expense of $12 million in the first quarter of 2005 to cover the cost of the settlement. (Jun-29-06)
