Accident Kills 5, Police Looking for Driver

San Diego, CA: Five people were killed Saturday in an accident involving two cars and 12 motorcycles. According to news reports, the driver of one of the cars fled the scene, after causing the accident.

The dead include four motorcyclists and a passenger in a white Dodge Avenger. Reports indicate that a gold Honda Civic tried to pass a group of 12 motorcyclists on a two-lane highway in El Centro, Imperial County, just east of San Diego. The Dodge had to swerve to miss hitting the Honda, and ran head-on into the motorcyclists instead.

The bikers were part of the Saddle Tramps Motorcycle club out for a ride in celebration of the group's 10th anniversary.

Deeann Goudie, a spokeswoman for the highway patrol, told CNN.com "The gold Honda Civic left the scene without stopping and police want to talk with that driver. We're looking for a 1995-2000 model year Gold Honda Civic."

The driver of the Dodge, Carlos Bobadilla, was freed Sunday after blood alcohol tests confirmed he was not drunk when he hit the bikers. He is not considered at fault for the accident.
