Six people have died in a horrific train accident in Nevada. The train crash occurred when a tractor-trailer collided with an Amtrak train on Friday.

According to Reuters, a spokesperson for the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said the tractor-trailer driver attempted to stop his vehicle less than 400 feet before the rail crossing while the train engineer also tried to stop but was unable to do so. The truck driver and train conductor were both killed in the train collision. Officials say they could find more bodies as the search continues, as twenty-eight people are reportedly unaccounted for. Meanwhile, dozens of people were injured, with some suffering critical injuries.

According to the Los Angeles Times the cab of the truck reportedly became stuck in the passenger car and was pulled down the tracks with the train. Because the passenger cars were so badly burned and unstable, rescuers were not able to enter the train until Saturday.
