Bus Accident Kills One, Injures 13 in Pennsylvania

A teenager has been killed and more than a dozen others injured in a bus accident in Western Pennsylvania. The school bus collided with a car driven by 17-year-old Joseph Stoy of Loretto. The car reportedly crossed the center line of Route 53 near Gallitzin township, ploughing straight into the school bus. The accident occurred on Tuesday morning.

Stoy was pronounced dead at the hospital by Blair County Deputy Coroner Gil Barton. According to police reports he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Another two teenagers who were passengers in the car, 10 students from Penn Cambria Middle School who were on the bus and the bus driver were also taken to hospitals, according to a report on MSNBC.com. Officials indicate that three people were admitted and 10 students were treated and released.

Penn Cambia's middle and high schools will have grief counsellors on site during the school day on Wednesday.
