Bigger isn't necessarily better when it comes to vehicle safety.
According to a report today from [REUTERS], Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) are no better than regular cars when it comes to children's safety. In fact they are more likely to roll over in a crash, even though they are heavier cars, the researchers said.
The Pediatrics Journal says that buckling up appropriately - using a booster seat, car seat or seatbelt - is most important, and children under 13 should not sit in the front seat.
Chances of an accident are 40 percent greater for an unrestrained child in an SUV, three percent greater for a child in an SUV wearing a correct restraint, and less than two percent for a child wearing appropriate restraint in a car.
