Bayer Settles 200 Trasylol Cases

Washington, DC: Bayer AG has agreed to settle 200 of 2,000 lawsuits filed over allegations that their drug, Trasylol, which was meant to control bleeding during heart surgery, has caused injuries to patients including kidney failure.

In August, Bayer agreed to pay roughly $60 million to settle some 150 Trasylol lawsuits. The average settlement there was about $400,00 per patient, Bloomberglaw.com reported.
