Awarded $2 Million Settlement

San Joaquin County, CA: A motorist who claimed that physical damages from a car accident led to his divorce has been awarded $2,175,030 by a jury.

In 2003, James M. Lang, then 39, was rear-ended at a Stockton train crossing. He sued the driver's employer, Geweke Motors, which admitted liability.

Mr. Lang alleged bulging discs and a protrusion along his cervical spine. He claimed that his condition became debilitating with spasms and sciatica in both legs, muscle twitching, bilateral hip pain, insomnia and appetite loss. His physical disabilities resulted in the end of his marriage.
