Dell settles 34-State Lawsuit for$3.5 Million

Dell Inc has agreed to pay $3.5 million to settle allegations of misleading customers about financing terms, warranties, and rebates brought in a lawsuit with 34 states.

The terms of the settlement include Dell placing $1.5 million into an account for consumer restitution. The computer manufacturer will also change its advertising and disclosures to make the terms of its financing, warranties and rebales more clear to consumers.

All customers who are eligible for compenstation must file claims postmarked no later than April 13 2009 with their States.
