Allentown, PA: (May-09-08) The Mendelson Family Trust brought a lawsuit against the city of Allentown, alleging that the Colonial Theater's property was undervalued when it was condemned. Sources close to the case stated that in a recent development, both sides agreed to a settlement, in which city will pay Mendelson $50,000 for the Colonial building. Mendelson will use that money to pay the city money owed on liens. Sources said that $23,000 will be paid for the Colonial site; and $27,000 will pay liens on the Americus Hotel building, resolving all litigation pertaining to the blighted properties.
