Movie Piracy

Los Angeles, CA: (May-06-08) Several members of the Motion Picture Association of America, including Viacom Inc.'s Paramount Pictures and Walt Disney Co., brought a lawsuit against Cinematube.net, a website operated by Georgian Tien "Timothy" Tran, alleging that the website illegally posted copyrighted movies.

In a recent announcement pertaining to the case, Cinematube.net stated that it will pay $1.38 million to the companies and admit violating copyrights as part of the settlement. The case was filed September 2007 in US District Court in Los Angeles, by the plaintiffs who sought monetary damages and a court order barring illegal postings.
