Fire Damages Marina

Boston, MA: (Apr-17-08) Four insurance companies brought charges against Crosby Yacht, after a fire destroyed $3 million worth of boats and some buildings. The suit was filed in a bid to recover the amounts paid by the insurance companies to their clients for their losses. Court records indicate that in March 2008, the US District Court of Massachusetts terminated the case because a settlement had been reached, though terms of it were kept confidential.

Sources stated that following the Dec. 10, 2003 disaster, the boat yard has been rebuilt and reopened. The companies claimed that the yacht yard failed to adequately store and keep from harm the boats damaged in the fire, among other allegations. Records show that despite investigations, the cause of the fire was not known. [THE BARNSTABLE PATRIOT: FOUR YEARS LATER, SUITS FROM CROSBY FIRE EXTINGUISHED]
