Air Quality Violations

Phoenix, AZ: (Apr-03-08) The Maricopa County Air Quality Department brought charges against Vratsinas Construction Co., and Rowland Co., two Valley construction companies, alleging that there were air quality violations at the their facilities.

Sources close to the case stated that as part of a settlement reached, the companies agreed to pay more than a combined $40,000 to resolve the allegations. Vratsinas Construction Co. paid $21,600 to resolve eight alleged air quality violations; and Rowland Cos. paid $19,150, ending all litigation.

Maricopa County Air Quality Department officials said that in overall collections, area companies paid a total of $209,876 in air quality violations to the county in March 2008. [EAST VALLEY TRIBUNE: AIR QUALITY VIOLATIONS NET $40K IN FINES]
