Sidewalk Fall

Lodi, CA: (Jan-03-08) Margaret Stewart, a Lodi woman, brought a personal injury lawsuit against the city of Lodi, alleging that she sustained severe injuries after she tripped and fell on a city sidewalk. On June 20, 2007, Stewart, a Neighborhood Watch leader, was being interviewed by a Lodi newspaper reporter in her east Lodi subdivision when she tripped and fell on a raised sidewalk in front of 719 El Dorado Ave. The suit claimed that the fall resulted in a broken foot, a broken leg and a broken elbow. Stewart was treated at Kaiser Permanente and stayed 39 days in a Roseville convalescent home as a result of her injuries, according to the claim. As part of a settlement reached, the 68-year-old Stewart will receive a $130,000 payout from the city to resolve the personal injury claim. [RECORD NET: SIDEWALK FALL]
