San Francisco, CA: (Dec-10-07) A lawsuit was brought against the owners of the Cosco Busan, a South Korea-bound container ship, alleging that the oil spill in San Francisco Bay adversely affected the livelihoods of crab fishermen. As part of a settlement reached, two San Francisco-based law firms announced that the company will release $700,000 to compensate crab fishermen. Sources stated that the relief agreement is preliminary and will disburse $5,000 to $10,000 in insurance funds to each of the approximately 70 crab fishermen in San Francisco, Half Moon Bay and Bodega Bay.
