Boom Boom Cabaret

Lubbock County, TX: (Oct-08-07) Charles Ault, the owner of Boom Boom Cabaret brought charges against Lubbock County, after it stripped the Cabaret of its sexually oriented business permit, citing mistakes on the application. The permit was nullified in January 2007, forcing Ault to sue. As part of a settlement reached, Lubbock County Commissioners voted to resolve the dispute with the owner of Boom Boom, agreeing that it was wrong in seizing the permit. Further, the county agreed to a $50,000 payout to end the matter. The settlement amount was paid for lost revenue and attorney fees. A lawsuit is still pending between the county and Fantasy Theatre, which is an adult video and book business. Sources say that they could possibly see the same type of settlement with that lawsuit.
