National Maintenance and Repair of Kentucky, Inc.

Ledbetter, KY: (Jun-25-07) Kentucky Attorney General Greg Stumbo's Office of Civil and Environmental Law filed an environmental protection lawsuit against National Maintenance and Repair of Kentucky, Inc., a Kentucky-based corporation which owns and operates a barge cleaning and repair facility in Ledbetter. The suit was filed following a referral from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and a lengthy, cooperative joint investigation into allegations that the company generated, stored and shipped hazardous waste on the Ohio River from its Western Kentucky facility to West Virginia without the necessary environmental permits and manifests.

In a settlement reached, National Maintenance and Repair agreed to a $250,000 payout to resolve allegations. National Maintenance and Repair of Kentucky did not admit to any wrongdoing while entering into the settlement. [ALL AMERICAN PATRIOTS: BARGE WASTE]
