On November 28, 2004 Deanna Sprinkel was kneeling on the edge of an asphalt roadway feeding her infant daughter in her stroller when she was hit by the county operated tram. The tram was traveling 5 to 8 mph and dragged Sprinkel 25 to 30 feet. She sustained significant injuries to her knees and back; Sprinkel underwent three surgeries and was unable to return to work as a financial assistant. She filed a personal injury lawsuit; the Los Angeles County Claims Board approved a $2.5 million settlement. (Aug-22-06) [PASADENA STAR NEWS]
