Dey Inc.

The Missouri Attorney General filed a lawsuit against the pharmaceutical firm for allegedly plotting to inflate reported prices for Medicaid reimbursements and therefore defrauding Missouri's Medicaid program. The lawsuit claimed Dey did not accurately report the prices of drugs sold to pharmacies participating in the Medicaid program; primarily generic brand inhalants for patients with respiratory conditions. Dey will pay $2.73 million to Missouri's Medicaid Fraud Reimbursement Fund and $200,000 to the Merchandising Practices Revolving Fund. (Apr-25-06) [ SEATTLE POST INTELLIGENCER ]
