Heparin Recall—Same Contamination, Different Time

Los Angeles, CA The latest heparin recall by B. Braun Medical Inc. is the same problem that poisoned hundreds of patients in late 2007 and early 2008. How could this happen again? "Obviously it is the result of some sloppy work on the part of the supplier, Scientific Protein Laboratories, or B. Braun, or both companies," says attorney Roger Drake, with the law firm Baum, Hedlund, Aristei & Goldman.

Attorney Roger Drake: There is Still Time to Join a Heparin Lawsuit

Los Angeles, CA Patients who were harmed because of heparin contamination still have time to bring claims against the makers of the heparin products. Patients may have been exposed to contaminated heparin through injections, pre-filled syringes or IV bags. Roger Drake, an attorney with Baum, Hedlund, Aristei & Goldman, says that it is important for people affected by contaminated heparin to hold those responsible accountable for what happened. Baum, Hedlund, Aristei & Goldman is a member of the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee, MDL-1953, handling the multi-district litigation for the Heparin Products Liability Litigation.

Heparin Contamination Possibly More Widespread than Thought

Los Angeles, CA Lawsuits are now being filed against Heparin's manufacturers alleging those companies are responsible for the recent Heparin contamination and subsequent illness of patients exposed to the drug. Some lawsuits have already been filed; however as more news about the contamination is released, many more people will likely realize that they, too, were a victim of Heparin and file lawsuits.
