Gas Generators Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

About 1,500 Sycamore Pro Gas Generators are being recalled because a plastic sediment cup attached to the bottom of the fuel valve can crack during shipping and handling and cause fuel leakage or spillage, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

So far, Sycamore SCS has received 9 reports of generators leaking.

This recall involves the following models of the Sycamore Pro gas generators: APEX 3, APEX 7, APEX 6, EGS 3.2, EGS 4.8, and EGS 7. "Sycamore Professional" and the model name can be found on the front of the generator. All models are black and green and have side control panels. The APEX 3, 6, and 7 are portable generators and have two wheels. The EGS 3.2, 4.8, and 7.2 do not have wheels.

The generators were sold at various dealers and stores in Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Oregon, Texas, and Washington between May 2008 and October 2008 for between $940 and $2,340.
