If Recalled, 30 Million Vehicles Could be Affected

Chinese-made valve stems are being investigated by the federal government for potential faults that could lead to tire failures and serious car accidents. Should the investigation trigger a recall, as many as 30 million vehicles could be affected.

Cracks in valve stems can cause a rapid loss of air pressure in tires, which at high-speeds can result in loss of control of the vehicle. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration stated in a news report ealier today that they believe as many as 30 million suspected valve stems have been distributed within the US since 2006.
