China Recall: KB Toys with Excessive Lead Paint

In spite of efforts by Chinese authorities, and importers of Chinese products to keep a watchful eye for the presence of defective products, the parade of defective products just keeps on coming.

The latest is a voluntary recall by KB Toys of Pittsfield, which is triggering a recall of toys with high levels of lead paint on toy surfaces. The lead paint could harm a child, and could lead to injury.

The toys involved are Wooden Pull-Along Alphabet & Math Blocks Wagons, Wooden Pull-Along Learning Blocks Wagons, 10-in-1 Activity Learning Carts, and Flip-Flop Alphabet Blocks. The wagons have blocks with letters, words, numbers, or pictures on them. "First Learning" or "My Kidz" are printed on the products' packaging, in addition to UPC #834162002158 or #834162002165.

The recalled 10-in-1 Activity Learning Carts are three-dimensional learning toys with various activities. "First Learning" and UPC #834162002127 are affixed on the package.

Recalled Flip-Flop Alphabet Blocks have blocks that flip with letters, words, numbers, and pictures featured on the toys. "First Learning" and UPC #834162001212 are printed on the product packaging.

Of course, you may not have the packaging any longer, so a call to the manufacturer may be in order.

The items identified here were sold at KB Toys stores nationwide and were manufactured in China.

Parents should take the recalled toys away from children and, and their option, return them to any KB Toys retail store for a store credit.
