A class action lawsuit has been filed against the Canadian bank alleging unpaid employee overtime. The lawsuit was filed in Ontario Superior Court on behalf of 5,000 current and former non-management, non-unionized employees of Scotiabank who are or were personal bankers or other front-line customer service employees. The suit claims workers are assigned heavier workloads than can be completed within standard working hours and are therefore forced to work unpaid overtime. Employees claimed to have worked 5 to 15 hours extra per week without compensation.
