Plaintiff's Complaint:
Plaintiff alleges that, on February 18, 2014, she underwent a right total knee replacement procedure. During the procedure, the Defendants failed to properly place, position and pad the pnuematic tourniquet resulting in damage to the patient's femoral, posterior tibial and common peroneal nerves. The injury to the Plaintiff's femoral and posterior tibial nerves was transient and recovered to some degree, however, the Plaintiff's common peroneal nerve was permanently injured, resulting in a significant "drop foot" condition. Furthermore, due to Plaintiff's postoperative nerve injuries, she was unable to adequately rehabilitate her right knee following the total knee replacement procedure, ultimately resulting in persistent weakness, pain and swelling. Plaintiff in no longer able to work as a registered nurse due to her permanent and debilitating disability and she requires ongoing assistance with many of her activities of daily living.

Injury, Damage, or Loss:
Permanent injury to the patient's common peroneal nerve resulting in drop foot, permanent disability, loss of income/employment, future life care needs, physical pain and suffering, inconvenience, etc.

Defendant's Wrongdoing:
Failure to properly place, position and pad a pneumatic tourniquet in connection with a total knee replacement procedure.
