$5M Settlement Reached in Qualitest Vitamin Lawsuit

This is a settlement for the Whistleblower lawsuit.

Santa Clara, CA: The federal government and some 48 states have reached an agreement with with Qualitest Pharmaceuticals Inc, potentially ending a whistleblower lawsuit alleging unlawful labeling practices on the part of Qualitest.

Qualitest, a subsidiary of Endo Health Solutions, makes generic pharmaceuticals including multivitamins. The lawsuit alleged Qualitest unlawfully labeled and marketed the multivitamin tablets as having the amount of fluoride recommended by the American Dental Association, when in fact they contained less than half the amount.

Under the terms of the settlement agreement, Qualitest will pay in excess of $5 million to resolve the claims portion relating to New York' Medicaid program. Of that money, $2.8 million will go to New York and $2.2 million will go to the federal government.

They actually did the public a favor by reducing fluoride. No one should ingest fluoride, it's toxic.
