TGI Friday's Settles 14 Employment Lawsuits

This is a settlement for the Donning-Doffing lawsuit.

Los Angeles, CA: Preliminary settlements have been reached between TGI Friday' and 14 members potentially ending all 14 lawsuits alleging the restaurant chain was in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) .

The settlements range from $2,500 to $82,000 and will be paid by TGI Friday' parent company Carlson Restaurants. The lawsuits claimed that the employees who worked for tips were cheated on wages for side work they performed.

The agreement follows the Januarycertification by the judge hearing the cases, of a nationwide employment class actoin lawsuit against restaurant chain by workers who allege that servers, bartenders and hosts are not being paid minimum wage for hours spent cleaning, restocking and prepping food.

The case is Jamel Flood et al. v. Carlson Restaurants Inc. et al., case number 1:14-cv-02740, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
