Pfizer to Pay $190M in Neurontin Class Action Settlement

I've only been taking gabapentin for several months now and I'm dealing with memory loss,blurry vision and mood swings. I'm trying to wean myself.

I've been prescribed gabapentin for several years and has effected my memory as I can't remember anything like the simple everything's I use to as well as going threw withdrawals as I've tried several times to stop taking them

I was put on gabapentine for nerve pain since I believe 2011. The only way the drug would work is at very high dosages. I was on 300 mg 6 X daily but all I could do is sleep. It left me non functional. Then started having migraines. So my doctor prescribed me Topomax for migraines. I have severe neuropathy and nothing has help. I’m in pain every day. My right hand , haven’t been able to feel my fingers got the past 2 years. My primary care doctor retired and my new doctor prescribed it to me again based off my former physician. I stop taking it because it not helping and my nerve pain burns like fire. I just cry.

i was given gabapentin for insomnia through the past couple years. I was prescribed Gabapentin for my severe migraines by my Neurologist. I had no idea that this medication is causing my in health to decline as well as decline in my vision. I work at an OBGYN clinic and I have spoken with a Nurse Pract. here at our clinic regarding this. My loss of memory is very frustrating. I work in a very fast pace clinic and with the symptoms it is becoming harder and harder for me to perform my job effectively.

I was unaware of this issue until today. I have been on Gabapentin for many years. I have had unexplained dizziness & memory issues.

I was prescribed Gabapentin for Fibromyalgia pain. Was on it for over a year. It did not help. I developed Restless leg syndrome, have increased vertigo symptoms, lightheaded all the time, blurry vision, increased migraines and I have cognitive issues now. Forgetting words while I am speaking. Typing this comment took me longer than it should have.

I was prescribed gabapentin last year November for nerve pain. I have stopped taking it since I can’t remember anything on the short term. My eyes gets blurry, my balance is completely off completely

Be use gabapentin for ten years started losing eyesight and memory loss.in got off my pills and my eye stop loses sight! My family doctor said that it’s not doing that. So I start taken them again my eyes are getting worse again. I stopped take it again. Now I need to go the eye Doctor again my are getting my glass changed again

I was prescribed gabapentin for nerve pain. I stopped taking it when I was having probably remembering. It was like my mind couldn't catch up. Slow dragging and short term was shot. My memory still isn't right.

I went to a cardiologist in 1994 and mentioned my severe restless legs since teenager but never diagnosed until him. He suggested this "new" drug, Neurontin. My life was never the same. I've been in 3600 mg for decades. I need to talk to someone. Please

I was on them for my feet. I was taking them at night I take taking 2 they was 600 mg was on them I believe 8 yrs. I would take them and had take myself off for 2weeks then start taking them the reason I take myself off cause it would mess with speech & couldn't hold nothing would drop it.
I finally told my Dr and he said he never heard of that & cut it down to I took 1 /2 at nite
Then in Nov 2020 I had go to the hospital I fell at home found out I had mersa went to rehab back hospital 3 days later a na came in I couldn't talk they took me to the hospital found from gabapentin was telling my BODY I was having a seizure but my MIND I wasn't I couldn't hardly talk they had do a cat scan lucky my mind was ok
They had check my heart make sure it didn't bother my heart.
The dr never take them again they are mainly for people with seizure which I never had. Haven't taken any since dec 2020

After taking this drug for a year o have severe memory loss. I can’t remember the simplest things. I was a waitress for 20 years and could tell you peoples orders when they walk in the door. Now I can’t even remember dates, appointments, spelling of words, certain words to answer a question and more!

I hv been taking gabapentin for almost 10 yrs. It was prescribed for pain. Initially prescribed for fibromyalgia pain then i was told by drs that it wld help my neuropathy in which it didnt. Roughly 2-3 yrs after i began taking gabapentin, i started having breathing problems amd was diagnosed w/OCPD. My breathing is even worse today. I stopped taking gabapentin about 2 yrs ago because 1- my breathing was terrible, 2- didnt se to be helping w/pain as i thought it once did, 3- I cldnt remember things and started to feel foggy in my brain... Cldnt think clear.
My breathing is still terrible today. Some days i hurt so bad i dont want to move, I am thinking clearer as long as my pain isnt to to bad. I wld like to talk to someone about this rescent lawsuit/settlement or speak to someone about me sueing Pfizer.

I was on Gabapentin for years for Neuropathy, I would wake up all confuse and coudn't remember anything and shaking like I had Parkinson's. I also had dizziness, problems walking and staying focus. Is it to late to be a part of the lawsuit?

I took Gabapentin for I believe nerve pain. I have trouble remembering exactly because I have had severe memory loss since then. I can’t say for fact memory loss is from gabapentin

I have developed short term memory loss. I take a very large MG of Gabapentin on a daily bases. I have blured vision as a side affect. My question is "can it be possible that Gabapentin is the source of my short term memory loss?.

I got prescribed this in May of 2022 because of an ankle surgery for pain. This stuff made me have so much brain fog, the migraines were unreal, and I had a hell of a time quitting it. I’m still trying to gradually take myself off!!!! Someone help!!!!

Myself and my stepfather were prescribed Gabepentin for pain.

In 2012 I was diagnosed with rsds/crps and tried multiple medications for it. I was then prescribed gabapentin and the dosage kept being raised to control my pain until it reached 600 mg 5 times a day. It was then I had experienced memory loss, incontinence and was having to wear adult diapers as well as muscle ticks in my head and neck that I still go through to this day as well as memory issues. I had also lost my hair and was diagnosed with alopecia areata. I also had a year of stomach issues that are still unknown why i had. I got sick after every meal and lost way too much weight way too fast that even my teeth decayed and are now getting removed fully. I now have no upper teeth and waiting to remove all my lower teeth. Due to this drug I am afraid of all pain management medications and get so much anxiety when I am prescribed anything and I stop taking things when even the slightest of side effects started to effect me in fear that they will get worse.

I was prescribed gabapentin as a pain medication after I shattered my elbow in 2020 because they didnt want to prescribe actual pain medicine for me. I was taking it as needed and started having problems with suicidal thoughts,increased anger for no reason also crazy mood swings. It also messed with my brain such as brain fog big time.

I have been on Gabapentin for over 6 years. I always had shortness of breath, since I have been on it.

After being prescribed Gabapentin for Neuropathy, I began to have symptoms of Parkinson's and they escalated to a degree that I could not coordinate or even move certain parts of my body. My doctor found that I had a high level of Potassium in my system, and these symptoms disappeared and what I perceived as my descent to death was halted and I felt like I was re-born. The feeling of being a prisoner in my body and my loss of body control;was replaced with improved memory, regained mobility, with the ability to stay awake at 10 in the morning, when I would (under the medication) be falling asleep after being awake for only an hour or two. Gabapentin gave me tremors and inhibited control of my hands to even dial the correct numbers on my phone. I had been unable to put a sentence together, remember the words that I wanted to say, or to have the proper words come out of my mouth. The affect on my neurotransmitters made me a basket case. thank God my doctor directed me to immediately stop taking the Gabapentin. This medication should be removed from the market altogether. Who knows how many people have been wrongly diagnosed with Parkinson's or have ended up in a coma and have died from the side effects.

is it to late to file a claim against gabapentin it started his breathing problem and memory problems while taken it it caused my husband to come out of the bathroom gasping to breath even thought he smoked this made his lungs worst his dr was trying to get him off of narco but he wasnt told to stop taken narco so he was taken both at the same time his memory got worst even after stopping he feet got swollen he started retaining fluids and sense he died dec 22 2019 from copd but i feel even thought he smoked gabapentin caused his lungs to get even worst then they all ready were his death left me in a bind as were are seniors and its going to be hard for me to pay the bills he also was a vetern

I was on Gabapentin for over 5 years til it bult up in my system and caused me to have a tremor that lasted 4 hours and hospitalized for 3 nights. I woke up and all my memory was gone. My family, kids, my life and everything from 4 years of college. Makes me sick everyday. I don't leave the house much people come to talk to me but I don't know them anymore.. That caused me anxiety, and major depression.

I have been diagnosed with a condition I'm constantly in pain. I was put on. Norontin. I have been on it since 2009. I thought I had a short time before I would be in a 24 hour lock down environment due to Dementia/alztiemers that I was tested for ucsf. Because my memory was so bad I was asked how did u get here by the director of neurology at ucsf. I could no longer trust my self and I could no longer give information to anyone because they would ask me details I had know knowledge of. This effected my well being, and safety, my finances my, relationships, It opened the door to predators that I could not challenge due to memory loss.

I was prescribed gabapentin for my fybromyalgia about 3 years ago, I started having horrible memory loss to the point I was making bad grades in my college courses and forgetting appointments. My anxiety worsened, I started feeeling depressed which I still battle. I have told my doctor and she took me of it and prescribed me pregabalin.

I have only been taking gabatetin for about 5 weeks. I have a herniated disc and getting ready for my second session of epidurals tomorrow. I have started taking 1800 mg a day. I have been taking Gabapentin since 2014 , started off 1200mg-2400mg a day , everyday for Peripheral Neuropathy. I have gained over 50 lbs. developed Major depression, Anxiety, Drowsiness, Nauseated, Weird dark thoughts, Memory loss severe " Brain fogged", uneasy, irritable, bad temper.
I'm permanently disabled due to " surgery gone bad" a partial hysterectomy using the robotic that damaged my organ which almost killed me then now suffering from complications. I hope this is a contingency that would help me. Thank you. God bless you all.

I have used gabapentin for years now this drug has made me feel so drugged I could not function at times. every time I try to get off I have shooting pains in my legs and I feel like for it to go away I have to get more. Gabapentin has ruined my life. My memory is down to 5 seconds. I am completly "Brainfogged". I have gained 50 pounds in 12 months using Gabapentin to control Pain???? I have lost three teeth and expect to lose two more. This all has happened in the 18 months I used Gabapentin. The Veterans Administration disclaims any knowledge of these side effects. There are thousands of us Vets using Gabapentin. Cannot focus and stay awake very long.
