California Culinary Institute Reaches Tentative $40M Settlement

- by

San Francisco, CA: The California Culinary Academy has reached a settlement of a class action lawsuit brought by students of the CAA over allegations of false advertising. Specifically, the suit charged that the school "misrepresented its 98 percent job placement rate, exaggerated its prestige in the industry and suggested that it had a selective qualifying process."

The settlement amount is for a reported $40 million, and is pending approval. Some 8,500 students who attended the CCA between 2003 and 2008 may be eligible for rebates of up to $20,000 each, if the settlement goes through.

I was at the school around 2003 I stayed across the street at the hotel and dorm. I was raped there at the dorm by a fellow student, the school done nothing about it, nor made an effort to make sure I was safe. And as far as getting a job after I struggled and did private catering which I started my self with no help from the school . I never received any kind of job placement or even heard anything from the school after I left
