Alta College Settles False Claims Allegations for $7 Million

- by

Alta College and its school in Texas have agreed to pay $7 million to the federal government to settle allegations that they engaged in false claims to obtain student aid funds from the government. Collectively, the schools have more than 12,000 students enrolled at 19 campuses in Virginia, Texas, Georgia, Colorado, California, and Illinois.

The settlement ends allegations that were originally brought as a federal suit by whistleblowers under the False Claims Act.

Hi I had a similar situation with this college where they gave me a fake diploma to get me passed the enrollment stage and then started to make me present when I wasn't there to collect. I felt like I was totally duped.
