Newmont Mining Settles Toxic Spill Class Action
This is a settlement for the Environment Law lawsuit.
The town of Grass Valley, in Denver, will receive $4 million as settlement of a 5-year old class action suit it launched against Newmont Mining.
The suit alleged that the mining company sent massive amounts of toxic water into the city's sewage treatent plant. The mining company will also spend $2 million to build another water treatment plant.
