Tenative Class Action Settlement Could Cost Indiana State $8.5 Million


This is a settlement for the Employment lawsuit.

A proposed settlement of a class action suit filed by Indiana State employees, which alleges discrepancies in standard working hours, could cost the state $8.5 million. The proposed settlement could affect up to 15,000 employees who worked for the state between 1973 to 1993.

The class action suit was originally filed nearly 15 years ago. Unresolved issues include whether or not to compensate families of workers who have since died. Current and former emplyees have 45 days to file their claims.
