Ebay fined $61 Million by French Court

This is a settlement for the Internet/Technology lawsuit.

Ebay Inc., has been ordered by a court in Paris, France to pay $61 million to LVMH, a luxury goods group, for 'allowing the sale of fake merchandise.' Ebay has already launched an appeal.

A month ago the online auction company was ordered by another French court to pay Hermes 20,000 euros in reparation for allowing the sale of counterfeit handbags.

However, Ebay lawyers suggest that this latest decision favoring LVMH is really about protectionism.
