Teacher Salaries
Marshalltown, IA: (May-19-08) The Marshalltown Education Association brought charges against the Board of Education, over salary increments. Sources stated that as part of recent negotiations, the two sides reached a settlement agreement, in which the salaries of teachers were raised by $990 in the Marshalltown district. Officials said that the increase puts the first-year teacher salary at $32,944 and is applied to all teachers.
Under the terms of the agreement, there will be no increase in health insurance costs to the district or teachers for the next school year.
