Officer Kills Student

Bowling Green, KY: (Apr-25-08) The family of Allison "Ali" Carter, a 20-year-old Western Kentucky University student brought a wrongful death lawsuit against the city of Bowling Green, after she was killed in a wreck with a Bowling Green police officer. Court records regarding the incident showed that the death occurred when Carter's vehicle was hit in the side by a police cruiser driven by Officer David Hall in April 2006. Bowling Green police officer Barry Pruitt, spokesman for the Bowling Green Police Department, refused to comment about the incident.

Sources close to the negotiations stated that the two sides had reached a settlement agreement, in which the city agreed to a $1 million payout to the family of the Western Kentucky University Sophomore. The Carter's legal counsel stated that the settlement helped the family find out what happened when their daughter was killed. [WFIE NEWS: $1 MILLION SETTLEMENT REACHED IN WKU STUDENTS DEATH]
